Today in Vanuatu is a bit different compared to the other days, instead of beaches… we’re experiencing some culture!
The weather is pretty unpredictable today. It’s raining but that’s okay because we’re not going to any beaches today. We went on the bus to make our way to our first stop in Teouma.
On the ride, I enjoyed the views, especially those rocky roads… I saw some cows! Soon enough, we arrived at the village after a long time trying to find it.
Before it rained, we learnt a bit of history about the village. It was kind of hard to concentrate when a whole bunch of bugs were attracted to my flower design hat… I wanted to take my hat off but it began to rain… while we were going through the jungle.
Although it was raining hard, I still enjoyed the culture I was seeing. There was the culture dance, the firewalk, and more cultural dances. I was pretty amazed by all of this and I was glad that I got to have another new experience to add on this trip… 🙂
It was a short but pretty amazing cultural experience despite all the rain, but now there is the wonder on where we are going to next. Ultimately I decided to go to the Secret Garden.
Once we got to the Secret Garden, it was a cute little place. To summarise it all, we were taken on a tour of the Secret Garden, and of course, I learnt more history and experienced more culture! Some of the photos can better explain what I’ve seen and learnt better than I can.
So I got hungry… what’s new? I ordered my food and made my way to the little comfy area of the treehouse. Once the food came, I enjoyed it while being so relaxed…
For the rest of the day, we rested for a bit before we went back tonight to Blacksands for Bible Study.
After bible study we went on a sunset walk to the city and strolled around for a bit. I wanted to go for a massage but it was closed. I had to enjoy every moment since it is going to be my last day here tomorrow…
But I’m so glad that I have so many memories to bring back…. Love these photos!
I am so happy with what we did today, at least I took a break from the beach and experienced some culture!
