Start fresh every three months.
I love quarter resets because A LOT can change in the next three months. I can’t tell you how many times I walked into a quarter not knowing what to expect by the end of it, and the MOST unexpected things happen.
That’s why, we can even make it an even more amazing quarter by doing a quarter reset! You’ll learn five simple steps of doing a quarter reset to help you make the most out of this quarter.
This blog post is for anyone who loves to have a new start and reflect on new ways to progress. There is also a bunch of resets that you can also learn about in these blog posts – weekly, monthly, and yearly (which you can read afterward!).
If there’s a step you think would be helpful to add, please feel free to let me know, I would love to try! You can comment; I’ll be the only one who sees them.
Let’s get into this.
STEP 1 – Rating Each Life Domain
The first step to the Quarter Reset is pretty simple! All you do is rate on a scale of one to ten (with one being the lowest, and ten being the highest) each of these life domains:
- Physical & Fitness
- Emotional & Mental Health
- Spiritual/Faith (if applicable)
- Intellectual
- Social
- Career & Goals Progress
- Avocational (fun & hobbies)
- Finance
If you want to take it a step further, you can write it down in one sentence why you gave a certain rating.
This is a great and easy way to reflect on each of your important life domains and see what you can do to improve. You can even add one thing you can do to improve each life domain for the next quarter.

STEP 2 – Reflections for Your Career/Goals
Now we’ll specifically dive into your career and/or your goals!
Every quarter is a good time to reflect on your progress and see what you can do to bring yourself closer to achieving your goals.
Here are a few starter questions you can start with:
- Is my growth stagnant? (e.g. with your career, do you feel like your growing as a person as well. With your goals, do you feel like you’ve gone closer to it?)
- Am I getting bored with what I’m doing?
- Are there any big major lessons I learned this quarter? – you can still learn valuable lessons from your failures.
STEP 3 – List your highs and lows
You can use the Magic 3 number!
While you can use this for reflecting on your quarter, you can also use this to look back on for memories as well!
I’ve been adding my highs and lows to my quarterly reset for almost two years now and looking back at them it’s pretty surreal. For instance, I look at some of the lows I’ve experienced two years ago and see how now (two years later), I’ve overcome them. It’s also good to reminisce on the good memories too.

STEP 4 – Set some goals
Of course, what’s a quarter reset without sending some goals? For myself, I like to set two main goals (and they’re derived from Step 1!):
- Health Goals – e.g. healthier/mindful eating, trying new workouts, prioritize sleep.
- Personal Development Goals – e.g. start a new hobby, new habit, read specific personal development books. You can check out some ideas of personal growth goals in this blog post.
STEP 5 – Revise your systems
Whether you’re working on your career, your goals, or both, it’s also a good time to revise your systems.
Remember how we did Step 2 on reflection? Those reflections are a great tool to help you see what you should change and do differently so you can get closer to your goals.
For example, let’s say someone had a goal to reach 10,000 TikTok followers. When they reflected for that quarter, they realized that they always felt burnt out trying to put new videos out consistently. That’s why, they revise the system for the next quarter by batching their TikToks, and writing ideas once they think of them. Then, the next quarter, they’ll reflect on how that worked for them.

Take a SMALL STEP
Follow the steps above as you go! Each quarter reset takes minimum 30 minutes, however it’s very productive!
To Wrap Up
And there you have it, the five simple steps to your quarter reset!
I even have a mini guide on the Quarter Reset (that contains bonus steps!) which you can download in the Free Resources Library that you can sign up for & access here. You can even find my free book Small Steps to Progression on there!
In the meantime, hope you get to start fresh with your new quarter (JUST NOTE: a new quarter doesn’t always have to be March, June, September, December… it can be WHENEVER you want to start it).
