The Jungle Zipline (VANUATU 2018; Day 6)

The Jungle Zipline (VANUATU 2018; Day 6)

July 2, 2020

I think that by now, I should have already been sick of the ocean views outside my window but, I find myself still taking photos of it every morning.

I had peanut butter with bread (the one from Blacksands) for breakfast and I ate it while admiring the view on the veranda. Soon, I got ready to prepare myself for the Zipline… I got so excited!

Breakfast on the Veranda

When we got outside, it was actually so hot that I HAD to use my umbrella. It was only morning and it already warmed up already. Instead of taking the usual route into the city, I went through a more scenic route… with better views.

The route to the city was so much nicer than the usual route. This was the way I am going to go from now on when I go into the city… I loved the ocean and the mini beaches I saw along the way.

Way better route – love this scenic view!
So many mini beaches…

Soon enough, I made my way to the tours shop, and then the meeting place for the Zipline. I was 30 minutes early so I just sat down in the cafe. I ended up getting myself a strawberry milkshake.

While we were waiting for the Zipline Bus…

Soon enough, it was time to get in the van that will take us to the Zipline. Once they picked us up, we went to another meeting place and soon were making our way.

Ride to the Zipline…

When the van was making its way uphill, there were some beautiful views along the way. There was a long bumpy road that we went through and it felt like we were on a roller coaster. Also, the road uphill was pretty thin and it actually did feel like we were going up on a roller coaster…

Almost there!!

Finally, we arrived at the Zipline. As always, the view was breathtaking. Eventually, we put our names in the lockers, signed our names, and then got into our harnesses, as well as our helmets and gloves. We had one last safety check before we made our way up to go zip lining.

We are here!
First view that I saw…
All ready to go!

So we made our way up and did our first Zipline! At first, I was a bit nervous… my heart was beating fast. But once I went on it and I started to fly, I loved it! We went on a couple of more Ziplines and I was enjoying every moment of it.

I had my Go Pro on to record every moment (of me screaming…) and every view that I can see. I may or may not have said “Oh mylanta” and “I’m going to die!” a few times…

So technically I had another jungle adventure, not just walking through it…. but ziplining through it.

But look at these zipline views!!
Some Go PRO pics for you!

And just like that, the adventure was over… had a blast! I honestly would’ve loved to go on a few more ziplines, but now I know that I don’t have a reason to be scared of it ( I was told that the youngest who has ever gone on the Zipline was two years old!)

Just finished the zipline! loved the view…
All the zipliners and the guiders…

We soon got back in the bus and it took us back into town. Once we got dropped off, we walked to the Seaview Takeaway restaurant where we had some fried chicken and fish & chips.

Lunch…. Fish and Chips and Fried Chicken Drumstick…

After we had our lunch, we walked back to the apartment.. through the scenic way of course. There, I had an hour to shower and relax for a bit before we had to go to Blacksands.

We stopped by the mall first to go to Digicel, and I ended up getting a slushie from a store to drink since it was so hot…

Refreshing…

We then to the bus to Blacksands and before we walked around the villages, we had a coconut, and meeting the neighbours… we also managed to be able to have some potential bible students!

We made our way down to the beach and checked out the river, before going back around to the other villages to invite more people….

Beaches everywhere….
Look at this though!

Soon enough, we called it a day and we took the bus back to the apartment. We spent the next hour trying to decide what to eat for dinner… I settled for Japanese food!

The Japanese restaurant staff were all from Vanuatu. I had some sushi (really good!) and chicken karaage (delicious!!!!!). Overall, I loved it, and I actually liked it even though the chefs weren’t Japanese….

After we finished our dinner, we just walked back to the apartment.

One last pretty sunset picture for you! 🙂

Today was a pretty amazing day of adventure…
