- How self-talk is actually a big contributor to our habits.
- How positive self-talk actually plays a role in helping us stick with our habits, even the habits that seem impossible to build for our ability.
- How negative self-talk actually contributes to our bad habits, and how having negative self-talk is actually not helping us at all with breaking them.
- How to change your self-talk in order to change your habits.
Favourite line – Think of changing your habits as a GPS system. Your end goal is your destination, and in order to get to your destination, you need specific directions. It’s the same with reaching our goals. In order to get to your desired results, you need specific directions on not only your habits, but also your self-talk.
Look into the Future – Turning Instant Gratification Around
Read this if:
- You always feel like you want something and just want it immediately.
- You feel like instant gratification is taking over your life. It’s stopping you from keeping up with your good habits, and it’s making you have a hard time breaking your bad habits.
- You want to actually stick with your habits (whether you’re building them or breaking them) and have the patience to wait to accomplish your goals.
You’ll learn:
- How to turn instant gratification around. Let it work for you rather than against you.
- How to not let instant gratification get in the way of breaking your bad habits
- How to not let instant gratification get in the way of building your new habits.
Favourite line: We can be conscious of our habits to see whether it’s going to bring us up or bring us down in the long-term.

Favourite line: Simply just outlining the steps towards building or breaking habits, without specifically mentioning any context behind it all, is like trying to sell someone something without actually explaining what the product does and why they should buy it.

- You’re always finding yourself letting go of your new year’s resolutions.
- You’re always finding yourself not being able to stick with your habits (whether building or breaking them).
