The glow up but for your productivity.
Over the years, I have tried various ways to become more productive. I have learned what works and what doesn’t work.
There have been moments where I was easily distracted by social media or anything on my phone where it derailed my productivity for a bit. However, I have discovered 5 great ways to immediately give your productivity a glow up when you need it.
Whether you are in a slump or just want to be more productive, this blog post contains 5 steps to having a productivity glow up.
Let’s get into this.
1 – Create a List of Morning Habits = Morning Routine
A great way to have a productivity glow-up is to start with your morning routine.
You can form your morning routine by creating a list of morning habits and then determining the structure from there.
Some examples of morning habits that I include in my morning routine are:
- Reading
- Journalling
- Spanish learning
- Making my bed
- Morning walk
Starting your day with intentional morning habits sets a positive tone for the day. This is because your brain isn’t overwhelmed with early chaos, and you feel more mentally prepared for whatever you have to do (e.g. work or study).
That’s why, if you want to give a glow-up to your productivity, start with your mornings. I have a blog post on creating a morning routine below.

2 – Create a list of night habits = night routine
Just like your mornings, you also have better control of how your day ends, aka your night routine.
Similar to the previous point, you can form your night routine by creating a list of night habits and structure it from there.
Some examples of habits that are in my night routine:
- Preparing for the day
- 10-minute tidy
- Night shower
- Self-care
Your night routine is just as important as your morning routine because it does two things: allows you to wind down & prepares you for the next day.
Productivity isn’t just about the amount of work or tasks you complete. It’s also about how you rest. Your night routine is the perfect time to incorporate rest. Incorporating rest is the key to giving a glow up to your productivity.

3 – Lessen the Screen Time (especially the social media time)
A popular productivity tip is to lessen your screen and social media time, and that’s for good reason.
My phone, especially when I use it for social media, is my biggest productivity distraction. With full transparency, I have felt how too much screen time has cluttered my brain, hijacked my focus, and drained my energy.
I have felt the difference when I lessened my screentime, and how much of a difference it made to my productivity.
That’s why reducing your screen time will do great wonders for your productivity and give it a big glow-up.

4 – Add “little extras” to your work routine
These “little extras” are those small, aesthetic, or comforting touches that make working feel more enjoyable.
My “little extras” for my work day as a lawyer include:
- coffee
- a cute outfit
- music
I love having these “little extras” during my work days (especially work-from-home days) because they boost my mood and help me feel more motivated to work. Whenever I have a challenging work day, these little extras give me the boost of motivation I need to feel better about it.
When you level up the vibe of your work or study routine you work better. I don’t know why, but it just does. That’s why it gives a great boost to your productivity.
5 – Romanticize everything
Romanticizing your life involves viewing everyday moments as meaningful or special. The best way to describe it (which is something I do) is acting as if I am the main character of a movie or TV show.
There is something about this mindset that makes me feel inspired and makes even the mundane tasks feel less like a chore.
This is the secret sauce of a productivity glow-up: turning the ordinary into something exciting.
To Wrap Up
Having a glow up for your productivity is quite simple: focus on your morning and night routine, limit your screentime, and romanticize your day (whether you work or study), especially by adding little extras.
These are all small steps that you can take to become your best productive self.
