The day started off with me trying to post yesterday’s blog but since wifi is so slow, it’s just waiting to be posted.
I started my day with peanut butter and bread for breakfast and as usual, I enjoyed the view on the Veranda. I was really excited for today – the plan was to go to the Blue Lagoon and then the waterfall..
I then got picked up by the driver. The first stop was the supermarket because we needed to get water for the trip.
After that was done, we made our way to the Blue Lagoon. During the drive, I was shown some of the markets, villages, trees, and beaches along the way. I just admired what I was seeing.
Finally, we arrived at the Blue Lagoon. There was already lots of people there and there was a line for the swing rope.
I finally got into the water. It was hard to walk into the water because the ground was rocky.
I waited in line for the swing. I watched how people swang all the way up and then jumped into the water. I was going to jump with my Go Pro, but by the time it was my turn, I was afraid that my Go Pro will break on impact, so I didn’t bring it with me. I went on the swing and… I failed…
I lined up again for take two and…
I failed… – worst time to come is when cruise ships arrive
After my second time on the rope swing, I didn’t go on it anymore. But then I saw kids jumping off the rope swing from the tree, and it was a slightly shorter jump. I attempted to climb the tree to go to the rope swing but…
I failed…
I ended up not going on the rope swing anymore…
So instead, I walked back to where I entered into the water to record some footage… I then stopped taking photos and just enjoyed the swim.
Swimming at the Blue Lagoon was nice and refreshing… the water was so good!
Once I was satisfied with all the pictures I have taken, I was okay with the leaving the Blue Lagoon. It was such a beautiful place to swim…. especially since it was really hot!
The next stop was Rentapado. Originally I couldn’t decide on going to the waterfalls (entry but there was no lunch provided) or the natural aquarium that provides a boat tour and lunch. Since I was hungry, I chose the place that provided lunch…
Regardless, both places were checked out to see what was offered. We did go to the place with the waterfall, but they didn’t have the boat tour or lunch (the workers were French and had pretty cool French accents).
We drove across the road to the natural aquarium, and they were the ones with the boat tour and lunch… this was the place. I also found out that they are a new business and that they only opened about 3 days ago!
After fees were paid, the first stop was this little hut/cottage (completely mindblank on the name). Once you enter inside, you can see the veranda, and see all the fishes. The lady threw bread down the water to feed the fish and it was pretty cool to see how the water moved. The design looked amazing as well.
Then, we made our way to the boat. They first showed me a turtle in the bucket… but I was too chicken and afraid to carry it (touching animals isn’t really my thing).
Soon enough, we made our way to the river. I saw the boat and the rope swing (with no line!). The river view was pretty but I noticed that there was some fish inside the river so I had second thoughts about swimming there.
We then went inside the boat and the tour started…. the river was eventually going to lead to the ocean. We were told that since the business is new, we were the first ones to ever go on this boat tour. The entire boat tour was AMAZING, the boat started off slow but then it went really fast. I saw how the river led to the ocean and I could feel the water splashing into my face.
The views were breathtaking and I was satisfied with all the pictures I took! I cannot believe that we were one of the first to go on it…
After the tour was over, we made our way to the food. I had a sausage sizzle and a fresh coconut for the drink. I even had another sausage sizzle and I was also given some fruit as well. The food tasted so good, especially since I was so hungry.
Soon enough, it was time to leave. On the way back, I tried my best to stay awake so I can enjoy the views, but I ended up falling asleep. We made one stop to the supermarket to get some water for the house, and finally made it back home.
At least I checked off some things from my “To Do List” for Vanuatu!
