Yes, I have done over 100+ solo dates!
I have been doing solo dates since I was 20 years old, and they have been life-changing ever since.
My self-love has been up and down over the years, but I have always been consistent with my solo dates (not that I wanna show off).
And I’ve done over 100+ solo dates! How do I know? Well, I created an Instagram highlight of my solo dates, and I hit 100 stories, so I can’t add anymore lol.
I’m going to share with you my Top 5 if you are looking for some solo date ideas.
Let’s dive in.
1 – Going to a Restaurant/Cafe (breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, coffee)
This is usually my go-to solo date.
I remember that I used to feel so embarrassed and nervous to eat at a restaurant by myself. But then, I realised that no one really cares. And if they do, it’s 100% a reflection on them and not on you.
Restaurant/cafe solo dates are great. You can go there for breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, dessert, or even just for a cup of coffee.
While you’re waiting for your food, you can people-watch, read, or engage in another activity that doesn’t involve your phone.
This is my go-to solo date, especially when I have a busy week. Obviously, you’ve got to fit in your mealtimes, so you can easily turn one of them into a solo date.
This is a good solo date to practice getting used to solo dates. It’s a simple solo date activity, but it can push you out of your comfort zone.

2 – Nature Walks
This can be at a park, any walking trail, anywhere near water views (especially the ocean), or even in the city.
When I was starting to do solo dates, this was usually my go-to because it’s effortless and you don’t need to worry about what other people think of you. It’s completely normal for someone to go on a nature walk by themselves.
Whenever I want to spice it up, I would get myself a drink before the walk, or get myself food afterwards.
This is a good solo date if you are starting out. Like what I mentioned above, it’s effortless, and it’s also normal for someone to go on a nature walk by themselves. Plus, it’s a great physical health habit!
3 – Beach Days
I love this one because I am a beach girlie.
I don’t need to wait for anyone when it comes to having a beach day. If I feel like a beach day and want to go to the beach, I will go by myself.
When it’s warmer weather, I have a full-on beach day. When it’s colder weather, sometimes it’s just a coastal walk, and I get myself coffee while I’m at it. Either way, I love being by the ocean.
If you are a beach girlie as well and haven’t tried doing beach days as a solo date, I recommend doing this as one!

4 – Movie in a Cinema
At first, I thought this would be scary, but it isn’t. When you go to the movies in a cinema, it’s completely dark, no one will see you, and you’re just focusing on the movie.
Back when I had a lot of free time (before working in a law firm), I used to go on a movie date every month. I loved it that much.
There’s something fun about watching a movie, having some popcorn, a drink, and just relaxing. It’s different from just doing it at home.
I actually recommend going to the movies as a solo date for beginners because again, it’s dark, no one will see you, and everyone is focused on watching the movie.
5 – Solo Travel
I’ve solo-travelled both internationally and domestically.
I love the feeling of going to the airport, chilling there before my flight, plane rides, and then exploring whatever city I am in. And hotels?? Love!!!
Before hopping on flights, I used to do solo travel within my local area. For example, it would be 40-minute drives, or local small towns, or even just touring my city. When I got more comfortable, it expanded to solo travel.
You truly learn a lot about yourself when you solo travel, and it is a great experience. I recommend trying it at one point in your life if you haven’t done so.
You don’t have to do a huge international trip. You don’t even have to go too far domestically. It can just be a day trip somewhere.
If you really want a solo date that allows you to fully get to know yourself, solo travel is a big one!
