This week should receive a speeding ticket.
I am not really surprised that today is our last day in Los Angeles. However, for the first time this week, we all actually got to sleep in… until 7:30am.
We started the morning with some breakfast and gave a farewell to our apartel (up until this point, I still don’t know if I spelt that correctly). We went to the shopping mall for the last time, we shopped at Ross and Walmart for the last time, and we went crazy with our shopping for the last time… that was what we did the entire morning.
For lunch, we were going to go to Denny’s but it was too crowded, so we went to Jack in the Box instead. We put the address on the GPS but on the way, we saw one special stop… JOLLIBEE!! We were all like “screw Jack in the Box, we are going to Jollibee!” My sister and I got so excited because we have always wanted to eat at Jollibee during this trip but we never got the chance to.
Right after, we went to go and meet with our relatives one last time. Since we were early on meeting them, we killed time at Starbucks where I had my favourite drink (that they do not have in Australia!) for the final time. We stayed at Starbucks for a while and took advantage of the free wifi.
For early dinner (about 3pm), we finally met up with our family and ate at “The Olive Garden” – one of my favourite Italian restaurants as a kid. I had an appetizing fettuccine pasta that I urged for more, but I couldn’t risk not finishing it since we couldn’t take it to go.
Just before we said goodbye to our family, we went back to Ross for the last time… and did some “small” shopping. Soon enough, it was time to say goodbye.
During the car ride to the airport, I embraced every view I saw (especially those palm trees!). It took about an hour to drive to the airport and once I saws the LAX sign, it was time to say goodbye.
This whole week has been memorable and enjoyable! I know that this would not be the last time I will be here. It may take another 5 years to come back, but at least I still have those memories to look back on…
My suitcase was crying when we were at the airport, I was carrying emotional baggage.
